Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Infant of 3 weeks has a small bump that is soft to touch on the left side above the anus. There is no open wound but it appears to be beneath the skin, soft to touch and moves around linke a lump. Size is 5 mm and it appears reddish outside. We have been crefully cleaning the diaper area with wipes and religiously changing diapers. This lump/knot appeared last night and we are concerned. What is this lump?
From what you said, it is likely a skin tag only. Usually it's left as such as it will not cause any trouble other than cosmetic issue. It is removed only if it becomes excoriated or infected causing pain, itching, bleeding or discharge.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
