hello. im a 27 yr old female. I want to ask how do I know the difference if its keratosis pilaris or heat rash? small bumps appear like keratosis pilaris, however they apprear after ive been exposed to the sun, but they don t look like pictures i have seen of heat rash. how do i know how to treat it?
Hi. As per your query the differences between keratosis pilaris and heat rash are- 1. Heat rash (polymorphic light eruption) only occurs on sun-exposed parts. Keratosis pilaris occurs mostly on trunk and upper arm. 2. There is always ithing present in heat rash. Keratosis pilaris rarely itches. 3. Rash of KP has follicular small papuples (feels hard on touch), In heat rash they are soft and disperesed. 4. If it is heat rash topical steroid like betamethsone cream and sun-protection will cure it. For keratosis pilaris use Benzoic acid 2.5% cream once at night
