What Causes Bumps Behind The Ear Of A Kid?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I have a 9 year old girl that has bumps behind her ears that are itching her. First day i thought I saw puss in a couple out of approx. 20 but don t see that now. Both ears. checked for lice and no lice seen. What can this be. I try not to medicate my children if not necessary so I am not interested in medication possibilities. Thank you

Hello,

It may be a post auricular rash or dermatitis or lymphnode enlargement or post auricular sinus etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and ice creams. Use mupirocine ointment locally. If no improvement please consult with your dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
