Hello...I am writing to you as a last ditch effort...I have had bumps on the back of my tongue for about a week. It started with a thick film of white matter and that went away mostly, but now I have the enlarged bumps still there. I am currently running a fever and just dont know what this might be
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the white coating/ film over the tongue is most commonly due to Oral Yeast infection known as Oral Thrush and the bumps over the back of tongue seems to be swollen and inflamed Circumvallete Papillae and the most common cause of it in your case is infection.. Fever can be due to common Viral infection and will resolve in 3 to 4 days.. If the white coating has cleared up it is fine otherwise consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if he confirms Thrush antifungal medicines like Nystatin mouthwash and clotrimazole lozenges and taking ample of Probiotics like Yoghurt and Garlic will help.. For swollen papillae resolution of infection will help and also do warm saline gargles.. Drink plenty of water.. Take Acetaminophen or Tylenol for fever..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
