What Causes Bumps On The Forehead And Scalp?

I have small bumps on forehead and temples that also goes into my scalp. They don t itch, they were sort of sore but not any more. What could they be? I thought possibly from sweat when working out since we ve had a hotter summer but they just got worse this past weekend. Thanks.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand from your query that you are having skin lesions on your forehead and scalp.

From your history and description, I would consider the possibilities of folliculitis, periporitis and miliaria.

Folliculitis is a n infection around the hair follicles. Periporitis is an infection of the blocked sweat duct which occurs during excessive sweating. Both of them respond to an antibiotic cream containing 2 % mupirocin or 1 % fusidic acid.

Miliaria is a simple heat rash. You could apply a calamine based lotion for a few days.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
