Hi,
Neonatal lupus is a very rare disorder that is congenital.it is characterized by the following:
1) Skin rash that appears either at birth or within six weeks and it subsides in weeks or months
2) Congenital heart block, in some myocarditis
3) Anemia,
thrombocytopenia, neutropenia or less number of neutrophils
4) In some, macrocephaly or large head
5)
Hepatomegaly or enlarged Liver and splenomegaly.
This is due to autoantibodies transferred from mother to child via placenta. Mostly the treatment is symptomatic. As you mentioned, burning and itching on your tummy, it may be due to increased
sunlight sensitivity. So apply a sunscreen without fail and for now Caladryl or Calamine lotion would help your burning and itch.
Coming to your headache, the following may be causes:
1) Migraine
2) Tension headache
3) Cluster headache
4) Headache associated with sinusitis
5) Some medicines also have headache as side effect
Take a tablet
acetaminophen or ibuprofen for headache but please don't take it regularly as they cause gastric irritation and kidney failure. So the cause of headache must be treated or eliminated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
