Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a sharp, burning pain on the outer area of my upper, right thigh, right below my hip. I cannot lie on my right side nor sit/put pressure on said area. it especially hurts whenever I pivot my body while walking. The pain travels downward, past my knee. what should i do?
You might be having meralgia paresthetica. In this condition there is compression of the lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh at groin. This leads to burning sensation in the area of distribution of nerve which is upper and outer are of thigh as you described. Diagnosis needs to be confirmed by doing nerve conduction velocity studies of the right lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh.
Meanwhile, start tab. Pregabalin. Visit an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed clinical examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Vaza,
