What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination?

Hi Dr. Yesterday, I was treated by my doctor for non gonococcal urethritis pending my urinalysis which I should see in a few days. My only symptoms were a red color in the tip of my urethra and burning sensation while urinating. He gave me a single dose of antibiotics and a shot. All burning sensations went away yesterday but seem to be back today. Is it possible for these symptoms to still be present while the antibiotics are working?
