What Causes Burning Sensation In Ears While Listening To High Pitch Noises?

My friend is almost suicidal right now and I am trying my best to help him. He suffers normally with a couple of ear conditions such as tinnitus and hyperacussis and misaphonia which is he living with but six months ago he bit into an object in a burger which damaged his tooth. he had to have some root canal work done. He bought a new LD tv. Since that time his only enjoyment was the tv as he loves films and sports but now he cannot listen to it at all. He says the pitch of the noise causes burning in his ears. Not pain as such just burning like acid in his ears. Would you have any thoughts on this please?
