What Causes Burning Sensation In The Eye While On Antibiotics?

I had a stye in my left eye in Dec and i was given antibiotic and an eye cream. Since then, I have had re, watery, burning, itching granular problems with both eyes. I thought maybe it is allergies. So, I have been using eye drops and taking Claritin D. For a couple of nights now, when I turn over in bed, my right eye is painful when it touches the pillow. Is this possibly an eye infection.

Hello,

Without artificial tear, it can cause corneal erosion resulting in burning sensation. So, use refresh eye tear drop having epiphora might be punctum is occluded and deficiency of tear.

So, strip test should be done, punctum dilatation and syringing is required, antibiotic eye drop can be infused through punctum consult treating doctor and if possible, stop antibiotic and clean the eye with fresh water.

You can take Levocetirizine tablet in morning for 10 days. Get your eye examined by eye doctor to exclude infection, can also take analgesic like tablet Combiflam after food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
