What Causes Burning Sensation In The Groin Area?

My daughter has a burning sensation and pulling in her groin area after a surgery to sever a nerve causing other pain in her groin area....we have been unable to determine any problems even though she has has had a CT scan and MRI recently. Both of these scans showed absolutely nothing wrong even though the burning and pain continues.
