What Causes Burning Sensation In The Hip Area After A Hysterectomy Surgery?

I had a hysterectomy on August 29. I am experiencing a slow burning like pinpoking pain on the right and left hip area. I think around the suture areas. This is worse at night. Is that normal. I have been traveling for work this past week and won t be home for another week.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

Burning sensation in the hip area can be a common phenomenon after hysterectomy surgery. I would suggest you have gabapentin tablets as this seems to be neural in nature.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
