What Causes Burning Sensation In The Vagina?

My vagina heats up when I stand in one place for more the three or four minutes. I have to sit down for the burning sensation to subside. Although not painful, per se, the burning remains a constant source of discomfort. Additionally, and seemingly unrelated, is a persistent numbness that runs from my feet, up my legs and on up to my genitals---will send photos, if needs be. Too bad you have to charge for answers because I cannot afford any extra expenses whatsoever. My modest retirement income has to say no. But if your instincts as a physician, with the Hippocratic oath etched your DNA, you choose to answer anyway, I will be most grateful. best regards, linda sanders

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information. The burning sensation you are experiencing can be related to atrophy of the vaginal lining. It can also be due to neuralgia. Compression of the spinal nerves can occur in advancing age as the intervertebral discs degenerate. This can cause numbness of the limbs and pain. I would ask you to inform your health care provider for further help. Please take adequate rest, take plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid excessive bending and lifting weights. Hope this helps.
