Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for posting After going through your suffering, the cause of burning leg, could be-1. The common slip disc at lower spine may be confirmed by MRI .2.Nerve compression (common peroneal narve) at knee level,to confirm EMG/NCV is the investigation of choice. For your eye problem you may contact Eye specialist. Do you smoke and take alcohol because there consumption may lead to burning sensation in leg.Beside diabetes other common causes for neuropathy are- 1.Vitamin deficiency (vitamin B12 and occasionally vitamin B6) 2.Alcohol abuse 3.Low thyroid hormone levels
My advice for you would be get following blood test done to find out the cause Urine routine and microscopic test, Thyroid profile, Level of vitamin B12. As far as treatment you may have drug pregablin under medical guidance beside vitamin B 12. Take care and I shall be glad to answer any further query Regards Dr.chugh
