What Causes Burning Sensation On Tongue After Taking Synthroid?

I have been taking the brand name, Synthroid, 50 mcg, for over 4 years now and have never had any side effects. Soon after taking this medication, now into (4 weeks) of taking this refill prescription, I recently started to experience a terrible burning sensation on my tongue which is all day long. After examining the drug, I then noticed that the pill was slightly larger then the one I was taking prior. I then called the pharmacist at CVS in Westbury, NY; he confirmed that the pill had changed probably because it was from a different distributor; which he said was from Abbvie US, in Chicago.
Please check this medication and have it analyzed for any cross contamination or errors. I hope this pill is not 50 mgs. instead of 50 mcgs.
