What Causes Burning Sensation Post Urination?

After I urinated I felt a burning sensation like you can have with a UTI. I sat on the toliet a little while and then felt the need to urinate again. When the stream started I felt a burst of what I thought was urine but when I wiped it was bright red. I then noticed a clot in the toliet. Since then I have urinated 2 more times and had clots both times. The 2nd was pretty large. The 3rd was smaller. I have no other symptoms except my lower back on the right side has some discomfort but I thought this was from playing wii yesterday. I am a 40 yr old female.

Geriatrics Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Lower back pain with hematuria requires an investigation. Possibility of Urinary tract infection needs to be ruled out first.
2. If urine shows only hematuria and no leukocytes, an ultrasound is necessary to rule out any renal pathology, particularly tumors.
3. Meet an urologist to get the tests done. Also check your hemoglobin level, it could be low and would need Vit B12 and Iron supplements for improvement.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
