Tongue burns all day. Recently my throat has started to hurt and I can never get a full nights sleep even with sleeping aids. My neck glands are swollen and I've had a loss of appetite. My tongue has hurt for a while sometimes the back and sides but mostly the tip which is almost a different color than the rest. I feel like I've burned it on something but I have stayed away from hot foods and drinks for a while now..
Hello, Your symptoms suggests you may be having acid reflux problem. In this condition, the gastric acid from the stomach comes up till the throat and oral cavity. Symptoms of throat pain and night cough will be more at night. Belching and loss of appetite are common associated symptoms. The burning over tongue and vague pain in the neck may be referred pain. Remedies are avoiding heavy lunch or dinner. Avoiding immediate lying down after food. Acute symptoms can be controlled with acid blockers such as omeprazole 20mg/pantoprazole 40mg before food for few days. On a long term, avoid carbonated drinks, cheese, oily food and excess coffee.
