What Causes Burning Urination?

My husband 87 yrs old is complaining today of burning sensation when urinating. He also has pain in the right groin which we are waiting for an MRI to see what is going on there. That has been a couple weeks and been waiting over a week for an appointment for the MRI. Might there be a connection?

Hello

Burning urination may be due to urinary tract infection(UTI).
Your husband need proper clinical examination and routine investigations.
Investigations include routine hemogram,random blood sugar,renal function test,ultrasound of abdomen,urine RE/ME.

He may be prescribed antibiotics depending upon findings.
He should drink plenty of water.

Probably MRI is advised due to pain. Most likely MRI is not advised due to burning urination. It is also important to know whether he has been advised for MRI (abdomen)or MRI (L/S spine).

Get well soon.
Take Care
