What Causes Calcium Deposits On Placenta During Pregnancy?

I am 22 weeks pregnant with my second child. At my regular apt this week, they did the anatomy scans and sonogram. When the doctor came in, he told me that my daughter was measuring small for 22 weeks and that I had calcium deposits on my placenta. He sent me for some blood tests, but didn t expand any on what this means for my daughter or me. I have looked some things up, and I read that this happens when your placenta starts aging, but according to the things I read, it doesn t usually happen until later in the pregnancy. The doctor will call me with my test results in a week or so, but in the mean time, I am a nervous wreck. Is there any information you can give me about this condition and what I am looking at for treatments and what this means for my daughter and me.

hi placental ageing is not a good sign for the growing fetus. it can result in conditions like iugr ie pathologically smaller fetus.it can also cause IUDs if left ignored. so all necessary precautions should be taken. start taking arginine sachets twice a day In a glass of water and start taking folic acid supplementation . take care and all the best . you must get a colour Doppler done to see the umbilical vessels at 28 weeks .
