What Causes Calves And Foot Cramping Persistently?
While sleeping I have gotten horrible cramps in the calfs and below and in the foot at the arch and on the top of the foot from the big toe, also large toe separates from the other toes and the two toes next to the big toe curl up. This has happened three nights in a row and about 12 to 15 times a night making me get up out of bed and I have even walked with a cane as not to fall
There are many reasons and some times it occurs without any reasons. Common causes of occasional cramps are Dehydrarion or nutritional defeciencies like mineral deficiencies, electrolyte defeciencies, vitamin deficiencies or sometimes over exertions etc. Less commonly due to peripheral vascular disease,Spinal canal stenosis or some chronic metabolic or endocrine disorders can also cause cramps or cramp like pain. Some medications also causes semilar complains. But the way you are describing it seems severe and its interfering your sleep so it is better to rule out the causes by a specialists. Hopefully there is nothing much to worry.
