What Causes Changes In Behavior After Taking Escitalopram?
My husband started escitalopram 3 weeks ago. He is very quiet, not sleepy, but very pensive. He says he doesn t feel any different. He is taking 5 mg. tablets 2xdaily. He doesn t think he should continue. I think he should give the medication more time. What do you think? Joan
The recommended dose can vary from one person to the next. It is usually given only once a day and the dose can range from 10 to 20 mg taken once daily.
Though he is taking 10mg totally, this 10 mg is normally taken at one time.
As you mentioned , it can take a few weeks for an effect to be noted but medication is normally adjusted after 3 weeks if no effect is seen. He can be reviewed by his doctor regarding possible adjustment.
I hope this helps
