I am a 49-year-old woman who is experiencing a few symptoms pointing towards what I m not sure. I have experienced changes in my voice, very painful acid reflux, unintentional weight loss, sore throat, and difficulty swallowing at times. My medical issues include HIV infection hypothyroidism and depression and anxiety. I am currently on medications for the HIV the hypothyroid and the depression and anxiety. I am currently undetectable as far as a viral load with T cells over 1000.

As per your query you have changes in voice, sore throat and acid reflex is due to infection of upper respiratory tract which is spreading till larynx leading to laryngitis as well. It could be due to highly compromised immunity of your body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics penicillin or amoxicillin with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications. You should take preventive measures such as avoid large meals and take small and frequent meals. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages. You should drink plenty of water.
