Hi health care magic Doctor Got flucloxacillin 500mg to get rid of a cyst. For a week 4 times a day Working. However since using the tablets, I have a pain when I drink or eat anything in my lower chest. Like a burning feeling right at centre of lower chest. Please advise Is it the tablets, or something else? Or infection showing up because of taking the antibiotics. Thank you Christine Bradly
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of drug induced gastritis is more. Antibiotics like flucloxacillin is known to cause gastritis. And your symptoms are similar to gastritis. So you need to take proton pump inhibitors on empty stomach for gastritis. Avoid stress and tension. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. If still you are not improving than you need to change the antibiotic. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
