What Causes Chest Pain And A Painful Nodule In The Neck?
Alrighty, about 10 yrs ago I was told I had lymphadenopathy with the abnormals mainly in the mediastinum area. And at the time very low WBC, My tests ran the gamut including a BMB. Nothing conclusive was shown but my Onco @ the time said I needed to be vigilant re the issue. I was until about 4 yrs ago. Now....it s been about a yr since I noticed a seemingly insignificant nodule on my neck. It has since grown, quadrupled in size. It s quite firm, and very recently seems to be slightly painful. I also am having waves of very intense chest pain. A good 9 on the pain scale. I don t wanna raise a flag just to have it turn out to be indigestion. Thoughts?
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should get done following investigation. 1. Excision biopsy of the lymphnode for histopathology examination. 2. CT Thorax with contrast to see mediastinal nodes. Chest pain with hard cervical lymphnodes seen in either infection or in the malignancy. So biopsy is needed to cobfirm this. Mediastinum is not seen well on simple x ray so CT Thorax is needed.
