What Causes Chest Pain And Heat In Eyelids And Breath?

I gave My 6 year old 1 chewable tablet of children s claritin around 4:30 pm and at 8:30 I gave her a5ML of benadryl she is telling me that her chest hurts and her eyelids and breath are HOT. Is there a drug adverse effect, are her symptoms a sign of danger?

Claritine is a once daily antihistamine. Another antihistamine is not needed because she is covered for the 24 hour period.

The chest pain and hot sensation and not likely related to the medication but due to the illness she is experiencing.

She should check her temperature and give her an antipyretic if she is febrile (eg paracetamol).
IF she is asthmatic, the chest tightness may indicate an acute asthmatic attack and she may need immediate treatment.
