What Causes Chest Pain And Hot Flashes After Total Thyroidectomy ?

I had a total thyroidectomy about 6 weeks ago. After about 3 weeks taking levothyroxine, I started having chest pains, hot flashes, and swollen, bleeding gums. My TSH was normal at 1.4, but against my doctor s advice I began taking only half the prescribed amount. Chest pains and hot flashes went away, gums got better. Then new TSH was 37.86. Doctor wants to increase my Synthroid - increase causes me to feel anxious, hot, angry, and frustrated (and my bleeding gums got worse, too). Help - what can I do? Really don t like the way a higher dose of synthroid makes me feel.
