I AM 39 YEARS OLD. I WAS TAKING AMITRIPTYLINE 1OMG QHS FOR INTERSTITIAL CYSTITIS FOR 10 DAYS. HOWEVER, I D/C TODAY BECAUSE OF TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS..TINGLING IN EXTREMITIES, FACE, CHEST PAIN, INSOMNIA. I WAS WONDERING HOW LONG THESE SIDE EFFECTS WILL LAST AFTER STOPPING THE DRUG?

You are advised to take AMYTRIPTYLINE 10 mg for interstitial cystitis for 10 days .
You developed many side effects .
The plasma half life of amytritylin t1/2 31 hours , while its metabolites t1/2 is 20-92 hours .
Since according to this the metabolites will remain in body for 3-4 days after stopping the drug .
But gradually side effects will vanish , so wait for 3-4 days and all side effects will disappear.
