What Causes Chest Pain At Night While Having Heart Valves Combined Together?
Hi, my names amara Sheppard. I m 14 I ll be 15 in a couple of weeks. However, my question is: I was born with the regular heart valves like everyone else and 2 of mine combined together. I ve been getting it checked. At first the doctor said every 6 months and then every year and now it every 2 years that I get it checked I got it check last December of 2013. The doctor said everything was still the same nothing better or nothing worse. However, my chest has been hurting every night for a month. Somtimes it doesn t get bad and other times it makes me cry, should I go to the doctor and have them check it or is there somthing I need to do? Thanks! P.s. I m at my father right now in a deferent state and that is my mothers email but I need an answer now!
Hi welcome to HCM. You seem to have fused heart valves.This needs surgical correction when symptoms of chest pain or breathing difficulty arises.As long as your are asymptomatic you do not need any specific intervention,but once you develop any chest ailments you need to have a baseline EKG and a screening 2 dimensional echocardiography to evaluate the heart function.Valve dissection will help to restore the anatomic morphology.Consult your cardiologist for expert management.
