I am 73 years. My BP is ranging 55-68/115-135 and pulse 60-70 a minute. Blood sugar fasting 120-125 mgl and after two hours 128-130. I walk 20-30 minutes 5 days a wek. I sleep 6 hours daily and bed time is 12-30 to 1 am regularly for the last ten years. Do office work in PC along with other household chores. A year before my LDL was 129, HDL 38, Triglecerides 80 and total Cholestorel 190 and feeling little chest pain during fast walking during cold weather and climbing uphill (not stairs) Doctor prescribed me daily dose of aspirin 81gm and statin 20 and continuing with this for the last couple of months and feeling no problem. Do I need any medication?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Your breathing trouble in winter like season while fast walking or climbing uphill can be just breathlessness due to bronchoconstriction due to old age especially during cold season. This can be low hemoglobin causing oxygen insufficiency or coronary insufficiency due to age or cholesterol problem. I would suggest an earliest consultation of a cardiologist to exclude any possible emergency and get needful treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
