What Causes Chest Pain In A Child After Running?

My 10 year old daughter was running 3/4 of a mile today at P.E. and at the end of her run she had a sharp pain in her left arm that ran from her fingers to her heart. Deep breaths made it feel better but it was tender to the touch and when she stopped running after about 10 - 15 minutes she felt better. What are your thoughts?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Tenderness to touch and relation with breathing suggests the pain was not related to heart, but originating from musculoskeletal structure. Rest and simple analgesics should help. We can evaluate in details if this re-occur.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
