I m a 19 year old female and very active. Lately I ve been getting chest pains just on the left side in the evening every night. I also have a lump that is hard, unmovable, large and is near my submandibular lymph node. I noticed it a couple weeks ago and it is getting larger. Are these two things connected and what might either/both of these mean?
Chest pain in left side may be due to many causes like cardio-pulmonary causes, musculoskeletal reasons etc. You need proper clinical examination and few investigations. Investigations include routine hemogram, random blood sugar, chest X-ray (PA view).Ultrasound of abdomen and ECG can be done if needed. Cardiac cause is unlikely due to your age. Pain may be due to chest infection, pleural effusion, muscle spasm etc.
Enlarged swelling near submandibular gland may be due to infection/inflammation in throat, neck etc. It is most likely not related to left sided chest pain.
