What Causes Chest Pain While Suffering From Wheezing And Cough?

My 16 yr old son just work up wheezing and feeling itchy on his chest and back. He is coughing and he said his throat feels a little tight. The cough hurts (his chest). He has no history of asthma or allergies. What could be causing this? An allergic reaction to something.
