What Causes Chest Pain While Taking Deep Breath With Pain Under Rib Cage?

When I take a deep breath, my who chest hurts. I would describe the pain like muscle soreness after working out. I also seem to have an achiness under right side of rib cage. Haven t done anything to cause any injury. I am 58 yrs. old and healthy. Could this be a problem to see a doctor for?

i completely understand your issue
yes chest pain associated with inspiration or respiration can be due to lung or pleural pathology.
you need to see a pulmonologist , he may request for a chest xray to rule out pleural effusion or any chest injury , if it is a simple muscular injury he may advise you for some analgesics like paracetamol for pain and other treatments necessary
