What Causes Chest Pain With Sweating And Dizziness?

I m 56 year old not overweight woman who just had a session with pain in the middle of my chest and it caused profuse sweating and dizziness. I almost passed out from it. It lasted maybe 5 - 10 minutes. I was sitting at my desk so no exertion involved. What could it be?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
The way you describe your symptoms like chest pain, sweating, dizziness, feeling of passing away, point towards cardiac cause more.
And risk factors for cardiac cause in your case are
1. Age more than 55
2. Post menopausal status. (CardioProtective effect of estrogen is gone in this age).
So better to rule out cardiac cause first.
Get done
1. ECG
2. 2D Echo.
Possibility of heart attack is more with such symptoms. So consult cardiologist and discuss all these.
