hi.my name is faizan. i am male, 23 yrs old. i've been having pain in my chest sometimes left sometimes right and sometimes my heartbeat gets so 'heavy' that i can feel it my chest very intensely(usually when i wake up from sleep dreaming) and most of the time i can literally see my chest beating (right down the middle, at the end of the cleavage) and often i get these attacks that i cant breathe normally bcz my chest hurts(mostly at the right side above my ribs) and so i would breathe slowly until the pain stops and then i can breathe normally and this lasts for less than a minute...althought the last symptom i described hasn't happened to me for a while now.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely Costochondritis. But is better to rule out the cardiac cause of it by taking an ECG and chest X ray if needed.Blood pressure also should be taken. For costochondritis i treat my patients with anti inflammatory gels of nimusulide or diclofenac for local application.I give the oral tablet if pain is more.If not subsiding with this and the pain is severe then i recommend local injection of corticosteroid or local anesthetic.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
