hello, I am a female and off and on I does get chest pain. I use to think that it was because of drinking soda alot, so I stop drinking them. But the pain didn't stop. It's like a squeezing shocking pain, that occurs on either the left side or the right side of my chest. what can that possibly means? :(
Hi Thanks for writing in HCM I need further information regarding 1.)your age 2.)how long you are suffering with this problem 3.)do you have symptoms of nausea /vomiting /regurgitation 4.) any complaints of breathing difficulty on exertion/fatigue /palpitations 4.) factors aggravating your symptoms 5.)any chronic analgesic intake history/alcoholic 6.)are u under any cardiac or anti hypertensive medications.it is advisable to take ECG soon after your chest pain.my advice is to dont take any aerated beverages(cola) further as it increases your acidity problem.my advise is to drink plenty of water if are not suffering from any renal problems,regularly timed food with every 3 hour interval but all in small quantity for eg 2-4 biscuits with adequate water and to avoid spicy and oily food,no alcohol,no coffee,no junk foods . i usually prescribe my patients T.pan 40 mg 1-0-1 (before food) syp.gelusil (antacid) 2teaspoon Thrice daily for 1 week.if .its advisable to do chest x-ray pa view and complete blood count if symptoms persists and to consult chest physician I would be glad to provide answers to any further queries.Thanks for using HMC Have a good day!Regards, Dr. V.KUMARAGURU general surgeon
