What Causes Chest Pain?

hello, the past few days my chest bone is sorejust left of center of chest. It also hurts when I breath and feels like I am pulling on the area. Kind of like being hit in the chest, and experiencing a feeling when I breath in as sore. My pulse rate the past two months has been over 125 to 136. I am a 52 male who is disabled mainly from DDD, DDJ. My weight is about 180 and do exercise with light weights. My cholestral (?) is 232 as of the past 30 days. My name is Randy Acquistapace (479)250-5650.

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
It looks mostly musculoskeletal pain. But we need to rule out cardiac cause first as you are having many risk factors like
1. Age more than 50
2. High pulse rate (130-150)
3. High cholesterol level.
4. Left sided chest pain.
So get done ECG and 2d echo to rule out cardiac cause. If both are normal than no need to worry much for cardiac cause.
Musculoskeletal pain also cause rapid heart rate.
So avoid heavyweight lifting, strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain.
Avoid bad postures in sleep.
Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant.
Apply warm water pad on affected site.
