What Causes Chest Tightness After Taking A Drug For Peritonsillitis?

I m writing about my daughter. She is teaching at a University in China. She is 22 and was recently diagnosed with peritonsilitus. She was on antibiotics and some chinese medicines she was not sure what they were. She is now complaining of tightness in her chest. Not sure how to advise her. She is not confident in the Dr.s there.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If your daughter has chest pain she needs to get checked in the lungs or do an x-ray to confirm that she is not having a complication and she may need antibiotics that cover that type of bacteria.
Except chest pain she may also have fatigue, cough, shortness of breath, etc. If she has just chest tightness and no other symptoms at all, then she may have just anxiety from being there and all the pressure that has built up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further by giving me more information.

Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
