What Causes Choking Feeling In Throat?

Hi I am a 32 year old male, the past few weeks I have been feeling a slight choking feeling in the middle of my throat like someone taking 2 fingers and gently pressing on the center of my neck. I have never had this happen before and have no issues with eating or swallowing, can you provide any details what may be the problem

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

One of the common causes of the feeling of choking can be acid reflux. I suggest using medication to lower the acidity in the stomach such as Prilosec. You should take it in the morning before breakfast. I also suggest using antacids during the day such as Maalox.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
