Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thick secretions is when she has fever, failure to thrive or oily stools. If any of these is present she requires evaluation for cystic fibrosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
