What Causes Chronic Cough Along With Runny Nose And Fever?

I have an awful cough that makes my lungs feel like they are closing when I walk for too long. I also have a very runny nose, and maybe a fever (I'm at college so I don't have a thermometer available to me). Health services is closed for the night here. Do you have any thoughts as to what it could be? My main concern is the breathing. I used to have asthma when I was little that sometimes pops up again when I get a cold.

Hi,

You are having viral inflammation of bronchi. It can aggravate asthma as well by bronchoconstriction. So I suggest you consult pulmonologist for chest examination and spirometry.

Spirometry will help in assessing severity of symptoms and management. Decongestant and anti-allergic medication like Allegra LC might be prescribed for you.

If repeated breathing problem (that is due to bronchoconstriction) then you can be prescribed Foracort like bronchodilator inhaler.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
