Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Flu vaccine provides 80% protection for 1 year. So it is possible that you can get flu despite flu vaccine because the vaccine doesn't provide 100% immunity. Yes, this season flu patients are showing more severe symptoms. So stick to your medicines. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 1-2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
