Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there. I am a 30 year old female. BMI 28.1. Over the last 6 months I have had regular almost daily episodes of heart palpitations. I have gone to the doctor and had tests done. ECG came back with normal results. Echo came back with what doctor said is normal leakage in 3 heart valves. Had a holter monitor test done and it picked up on average 2 supraventricular ectopic complexes per hour. Total of 5 ventricular ectopic complexes. And 1 ventricular triplet during the duration of the test. The test lasted approx 20 hours. I do have a family history of heart disease. My father passed away in July 2015 from heart disease after his 10th heart attack and unfortuently took an hour to get his heart beating again which left him zero hope of recovery. He had previously a triple bypass surgery and had been living as a pacemaker dependant since December of 04. My father was diagnosed with angina when he was in his late 30 s. he was 63 when he passed away. My paternal grandmother has also been living with similar heart problems as my father for years. She is now 85. My late paternal grandfather also had a triple bypass surgery in the past. My question I guess is should in be following up with a cardiologist? My doctor told me not to worry and honestly he s a bit of a quack. Not an understatement. Would it be advisable to get a second opinion?
