Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have developed a regular pattern of itching all over at night when I am trying to sleep. This symptom persists for hours and disrupts my sleep severely. I have eliminated the possibility of bed bugs to be a contributory factor and can only conclude either fried chicken bought from a fast food or dairy foods may be offsetting this chronic itching.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of itching all over the body at night disturbing sleep, bed bugs ruled out, thinking of fried chicken from outside or dairy products. One of the commonest reasons for itching at night is scabies. It has a typical appearance that your Doctor can detect. I would advise you the following: First of all consult your Doctor to get a definite diagnosis and proper treatment. Prevention of recurrent infection or allergens, once the cause is found, it should be avoided all the time. Cleanliness and use of proper products for washing, clothing and to keenly observe the factors that instigate or enhance the itching and should be avoided.
