hello, i m 20 years old and i have been complaining about chronic menstrual/random pelvic pain a little under a year after i got my first period (about 6 years ago). Each time i went to the doctors they would say oh it s just regular menstrual cramps . The pain got worse and i just kept on going to the doctors and complaining. they finally did and ultrasound recently and I found out that i have 3 endometrioma on my right ovary. my gynecologist suggest that I do a laparoscopy and she said if i don t get any type of treatment, they will grow and I might have to loose an ovary. I am scared because i m so young and don t want to lose an ovary. Help me please
/hi, I have gone through your question. You are suffering from the condition called endometriosis in which the uterine tissue is present elsewhere other than the uterus. It is one of the major cause for chronic pelvic pain. If endometriomas are present in your ovary and they are more than 3 cm in size, I would suggest you to get them removed laparoscopically. Your doctor will definitely give you some hormonal treatment after surgery to decrease the recurrence. Hope this answers your question. Wishing you good health.
