What Causes Chronic Pain In My Incision Area After A C-section?
I have a life long history of constipation and lack of bowels movements. I had a C-section in 2011 and ever since suffered with chronic pain in my incision area and recently diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I took several test and the result showed that my uterus is tethered to my anterior abdominal wall. Is this a misdiagnosis for endometriosis?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Uterus tethered to the anterior abdominal wall can be present due to displacement of the anterior abdominal wall muscles and uterus getting adhered to anterior abdominal wall. It can be a complication of caesarean section, however it is unlikely to cause chronic scar pain. The pain at the incision site is likely due to nerve end damage during giving incision. This does not seems to be a misdiagnosis for scar endometriosis. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
