What Causes Chronic Recurrent Sores On Scalp And Inside Mouth?
I have a sister that has a rare blood disorder and had to go on prednison 20 years ago because she would break out with soars in her mouth and scalp. I can not recall what it is called but I have a coworker that is experencing very painful soars in her mouth and I am just woundering if this is what my sister has. My sister keeps hers under control after years of working with the dosages but it is something that will never go aways. Do you know the name of this disorder?
Hello and welcome to HCM, There are a number of disorders which are characterized by sores i mouth. Since, your sister is on steroids (prednisone) there is possibility of an autoimmune disorder. There are some skin disorders which present as sores in mouth. Autoimmune disorders have a waxing and waning course. Medication has to be continued for log time and the dose has to be monitored. Since, your sister is having good control, the medicine has to be continued. A detailed description of the lesions is required to name the disorder.
