Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother who is 105 starting vomiting this morning and can't hold anything down now, even water. She doesn't have fever and seems okay other than the vomiting. She isn't vomiting if she isn't trying to eat or drink. I want to give her pepto bismol if that's okay, or what else is safe to try to control this
Hi Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health problems.
Her vomiting started suddenly or after eating something? Pepto bismol is used to cope up with hyperacidity, so if problem is hyperacidity then it will help definitely. Otherwise you can give her Tablet domeperidone 10 mg maximum 3 times a day (8 hourly). If even three doses can not control vomiting seek advice of physician.
Regards Dr. Hiren
