What Causes Circular Bruise With A Raised White Center On The Shin Of The Leg?
my three year old has a round brown bruise about the size of a quarter on her shin, but it has a raised white center. She tends to get bruises on her leg often, so I wouldn t be surprised if it was a bruise, but I ve never seen one that was so circular or with a bump in the middle. Is it really a bruise? Or do we need to worry about a bug bite or another cause? It doesn t hurt when we touch it, but we also don t see any puncture that would suggest a bite.
As per your case history, you have granuloma annulare. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesion twice daily. 3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for three months. 4. Other treatment options are a topical steroid, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
