What Causes Clay Colored And Foul Smelling Stools?

I have been diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2, and for the past month have clay coloured, foul smellingg stools, and a pain on my right side. A CT scan and stool test are negative. Is there a connection between Diabetes Type 2 and clay coloured stools.
